What’s the Difference Between Online Roulette and Live Roulette?

Live roulette and online roulette both have great positives and some drawbacks, and which type you choose depends on your personal play style. When asking the question what is online roulette/live roulette, you should consider the following distinguishing features, be sure to keep on reading to find out more.

Roulette Gameplay and Game Rules

Thanks to the invention of the internet there are now more choices than ever thanks to a huge variety of exciting variants. Roulette is a very simple game to play, and because of this is relatively straight forward to enjoy for all players.

The aim of the game is to guess the number or color that the roulette wheel will stop on. The wheel is broken up into multiple numbered segments and are split between red and black.

In European roulette, the 37 numbers on the wheel are coloured red and black with green for the zero. The numbers range from 0 to 36.

The American variant of roulette contains an additional green 00 pocket in addition to the 38 numbers from 0 through 36 that are featured on the wheel in red and black. The order of the numbers on the American roulette wheel differs from that of the European and other roulette wheels.

A stand-out feature of roulette is the large range of bets that can be made. These are split into two categories called inside and outside bets. There’s a third category here called the racetrack, but this tends to be reserved for more advanced roulette players.

The numbers 0 to 36 are the numbers on which the inside bets are made on the inner field of the table. Inside wagers come in five different variations: Straight up, Split, Street, Corner, and Line.

On the boxes around the inner field that have the numbers 1 to 36, outside wagers are made. There are basically five ways to make an outside wager: Column, Dozen, High or Low, Red or Black, and Odd or Even.

Selection of Roulette Games

There are plenty of roulette games of both types to enjoy when you play at Lord Ping; over 50 to be exact. Popular variants in the roulette genre include double ball roulette, multi-reel roulette, Royal Roulette, Mini Roulette, multi-reel roulette, and of course, last of all love deal roulette games, and games seen on our site such as Mega Fire Blaze roulette live, and Spread-bet Roulette.

Presence of a Live Dealer

Live Roulette provides all the drama and intrigue of a roulette table in a casino right to your screen.  On live roulette tables, you can play this casino game whenever you want, in a variety of stakes and formats, seven days a week. You also get to react with a real person ‘the caller’ who adds in a nice touch of socialisation.

The wheel in live roulette has 37 pockets, ranging in number from 0 to 36. All bets are put on the area of the table known as the "inner section" and can be made on either specific numbers or groupings of numbers.

You can bet on a variety of matching pairs of bets on the "outer portion," each of which covers 18 numbers. There are several alternatives, ranging from high to low numbers, odd or even, and red or black. You can also select from six distinct 12-number bets, popularly known as "column" and "dozen bets," as well as several 17-number bets on various regions of a Live Roulette table.

As you can see, the only real difference between online roulette and live roulette games is the ‘people factor.’ Having a live dealer more closely imitates the classic brick-and-mortar experience, and many slot players appreciate this. However, some players prefer to get down to business without distraction and therefore enjoy playing online roulette.
